The new Art Gallery of Alberta is the creation of world renowned architect Randal Stout. Cygnus was chosen by AGA to design, develop and manage the implementation of the wayfinding program for the facility, a building which is itself a piece of art.  Our approach was to create a simple, elegant and unobtrusive wayfinding and donor program for the gallery that would provide the necessary information without detracting from the architecture or its contents. As part of the wayfinding solution, and integrated with AGA’s communications strategy, our team developed an interactive touchscreen system on an open source platform, enabling the staff to maintain it efficiently and cost effectively into the future, while having the ability to provide added information without creating clutter in the gallery spaces.  Cygnus worked collaboratively with the Gallery’s Board and staff, the local architect and brand agency throughout the process.
