Lauren Connor moved from Australia in 2004 after receiving her Bachelor of Management with Honours (International Management). Since joining Cygnus in 2006, her role and responsibilities have grown to become the Business Manager of the Toronto office. Managing national, regional and local accounts, Lauren has worked with clients such as Telus, Deloitte, Franklin Templeton, Fairmont and many others. In 2010, Lauren worked with Telus Real Estate Services and Brand, along with BLJC, to manage the implementation of all the interior signage and wayfinding in their new thirty level building in downtown Toronto. Lauren also manages the profitability and resourcing of all projects in the Toronto office. Working closely with the design and implementation teams, she is a problem solver with a goal to always get the project completed on time and within budget.
Originally from Ireland, Chris studied Graphic Design at Fanshawe College. He joined Cygnus in 2007 as a Graphics Co-ordinator transitioning to Information Designer in 2010. In that time, he has also obtained a diploma in Web Development and Multimedia from Ryerson University. He has been involved in projects for The Calgary Board of Education, Baycrest Hospital, and Toronto Rehab, among others. Chris also holds a college diploma in Journalism and possesses a varied background in photography.
Katie Egoff graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2007 with an Honours in Communications degree, concentrating in business. Upon graduation she moved to Toronto where she pursued a Post-Graduate Business program at George Brown in Sport and Event Marketing. In 2009, Katie began working at Cygnus and is currently Account Manager for several large accounts including: Ryerson University, TD Bank Group, RBC Dexia, AstraZeneca, and BLJC. She has proven her ability to implement signage standards across a number of locations and site conditions, ensuring all signage standards are maintained and their facilities are easy to navigate through and appropriately branded. Her background in Marketing and Communications has allowed for a seamless transition into signage and wayfinding, understanding the public side of a client’s brand, and the importance of the user experience.
Joanne Han studied Interior Design and obtained a BA from Ryerson University in 2004. Since joining Cygnus in 2004 as one of the founding employees of the Toronto office, Joanne has acted as a project manager in a wide range of large-scale projects in Healthcare and Education. Her project management experience combined with education in Interior Design adds extensive knowledge in the value of wayfinding. Joanne has recently obtained her Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate from PMI.
Daniel Suria began consulting in the field of environmental graphics in 2004 while obtaining his Bachelor of Design from York/Sheridan's Joint Program in Design. He has designed and implemented wayfinding projects across the Golden Horseshoe, the US, Caribbean, and the Middle East. Joining Cygnus in 2009, his larger projects have included both hospitals and courthouses. Daniel brings additional skills in accessible and sustainable design as well as knowledge in IT, materials, and fabrication methods. Active in the design community, he has served on the board of the Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario, and currently serves on the Provisional RGD and Sustainability Committees. His work has received honours, including awards from Applied Arts and the University & College Designers Association.
Andrew Thompstone studied at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, obtaining a BA in Environmental Design in 2001. After graduating from OCAD, he worked on designing and building custom interiors for retail and residential clients in the Toronto area. He also contributed to various freelance projects, including set design for local fashion and art shows. In 2006 he moved to Vancouver and worked in a custom sign shop, where he held roles as a Fabricator, Designer, Design Manager, and Account Manager. Andrew joined the Cygnus team in 2011 as a Project Manager in the Toronto office. Beyond his role at Cygnus, Andrew spends his time as a freelance artist and DJ.
