Children's Hospital of Saskatchewan

Children's Hospital of Saskatchewan is an important addition to the delivery of comprehensive pediatric and maternal healthcare services within Saskatoon Health Region and across the entire province. The need for a maternal and children's hospital dates back many years. In 2009, the Saskatchewan government provided the funding needed to make this hospital a reality.

Now, with the province’s approval of the detailed design for the new 30,000 m2 hospital being received on April 30, 2013, the vision for state-of-the-art maternal and child health care services will soon be realized.

In the Spring of 2013, Cygnus was selected to provide wayfinding and signage consulting services for the new hospital.

Our team will apply a child and family-friendly design approach, while incorporating a range of evidence-based best practices in order to develop a system that is clear and easy for patients, their families and visitors to understand. Our goal is to promote an intuitive wayfinding experience, designed with the first-time-visitor in mind.

We will be working closely with the project team, stakeholder groups and consultants to achieve an integrated, flexible and long term wayfinding program for the new hospital.

Construction for Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan, which will be located in Saskatoon, is scheduled to begin in early 2014 with completion late 2016. For more information including drawings of the new hospital, visit www.saskatoonhealthregion.ca/chs.
